The financial services industry is evolving faster than ever, and our need to invest in our organization to remain relevant and sustainable has never been greater. To continue providing the convenient solutions and trusted advice our Members need to advance their lives financially, we’ve made the difficult decision to permanently close our Ear Falls, Sioux Narrows and Nestor Falls branches on October 1, 2021.
Our Team will continue to be available during regular branch hours until that time, and most investments and loans can be completed and signed for online. If you’re not already using our mobile or online banking there are some helpful videos that walk through how to pay bills, deposit cheques, send and request money (e-Transfers) and set up Account Alerts, amongst others.
When are the branches closing?
The last day the Ear Falls and Sioux Narrows branches will be open is Friday, October 1, 2021. The Nestor Falls branch will not reopen.
What will my experience be like leading up to when the branches close?
The branches will remain open for regular hours and operations. Please continue to work with your branch team for any financial planning support until your new Advisor in Kenora reaches out to assist you virtually, by telephone or in-person at the Kenora branch.
What will my experience be like after the branches close?
If you have a dedicated Advisor, one of our Kenora Advisors will be reaching out later this summer to have a conversation about your financial plans. They’ll remain accessible by phone, email and video thereafter, and will be working directly with your current Advisor to ensure your needs and goals continue to be met.
Will there still be an ATM available?
No, the ATM will no longer be available once the branch closes.
What’s going to happen to my safety deposit box?
Safety deposit boxes will no longer be available after the branches closes. Please contact your branch to schedule a time to remove your contents if you don’t hear from someone about it soon.
Will there still be a Night Deposit option?
No, Night Deposits will no longer be accepted at the branch.
Why are you closing the branches?
Our Members continue to access mobile and online banking more frequently as more and more transactions can now be completed through them. We’ve also experienced more Members connecting with us by phone, email, and video. Reducing the number of branch locations will provide the capacity we need to remain sustainable while providing the convenient solutions and trusted advice our Members need to advance their lives financially.
What’s happening to the Team Members that work at the branch?
A huge thank you to our Team Members in the branches for everything they’ve done to put you, our Members, first and move your financial lives forward. We’re working with them, and ensuring all necessary supports and resources are in place, as they transition due to the branch closures.
